We offer the highest level of tuition and exam preparation, along with guidance for entry into the most competitive schools and universities in the UK and around the world.
And all from top universities. Similarly, our SAT tutors are mostly drawn from the Ivy League or equally prestigious institutions. All of our tutors are subject to a rigorous and ongoing vetting procedure. Only the best make the cut.
We require an excellent academic record — only tutors who have themselves studied and succeeded in a particular subject are able to teach it. The personal connection between tutor and student is crucial to one-on-one tuition, and cultivating this has been central to our success. Our tutors are personable, friendly, engaged and engaging. It is important that they are able to be mentors as well as teachers, where necessary.
Residential tuition is a thoroughly personalised educational service with an unmatched level of pastoral care. A student’s home is their most protective and personal learning environment; a fitting place for intensive, one-on-one education. It is an extremely efficient and effective form of study. It is possible to work through large chunks of a syllabus and revise several subjects in a relatively short space of time. As a result, intensive holiday tuition is particularly appropriate before major public or entrance exams.
We also provide full-time homeschooling programs following an extensive analysis of a student’s situation and a detailed plan to create the homeschooling program. It is not something to undertake lightly, but when done well can have an extremely positive affect on a student’s academic trajectory.
Riviera Tutors offers small group classes online and in person with expert tutors in core subjects. These small group classes of up to 5 students have been especially designed to give the focused 1-1 attention of private tuition, whilst allowing synergy and peer-to-peer learning between students. They are highly beneficial educationally, and also fun.
Private tuition offers an alternative to the traditional, hierarchical, model of school education and all students benefit from working alongside a tutor. Through one-to-one tuition it is common to find pupils surpassing their own and even their parents' expectations. Frequently pupils begin to see their subjects as a source of interest rather than a chore. It is essential, however, to balance tuition with self-study, so that a tutor does not become a crutch for a student.
The series of decisions that you make about your child's schooling have far-reaching consequences. We have dealt with different pupils, with different needs, on different paths, and offer frank and impartial advice in order to help find the best route for your child.
We recruit our tutors exclusively from Russell Group universities, and the majority of our tutors are Oxbridge graduates. All our tutors have made it through our thorough and competitive application process, and have years of experience behind them. We work on the principle that our tutors should be engaging individuals and exceptional communicators; only tutors who meet all the above criteria are added to our books. In addition, our tutors are expected to provide thorough progress reports at the end of each placement so that the client is aware of their child´s progress, which is normally discussed on a daily basis.
Riviera Tutors is distinctive in our close dialogue with the families that we work with, and our creation of bespoke academic programmes for our students. We do everything in our power to enable tutors to establish a rapport with their students and deliver creative learning solutions. While achieving results is important, we also pay close attention to your child´s development and try to stimulate their curiosity for things around them.
